Privacy Policy
This policy explains how ConnectFLX handles information when you use its Finger Lakes discovery, trip-planning, visit-tracking, and business-listing features.
Information we collect
Account and profile information. If you create an account, we collect your email address, password, name, user ID, and account creation time. If you use a third-party sign-in option, we may also receive the name and profile image associated with that account. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not visible to ConnectFLX.
Saved activity and content. We store places you save; visits you log, including visit date, optional note, and optional rating; trips you create or save, including trip titles, stops, stop order, notes, expected visit duration, visibility, and calculated route information.
Business information. A business claim includes the place claimed, contact name, email, phone number, relationship to the business, optional note, claim status, and review history. Approved owners and managers may provide listing details, public contact information, hours, amenities, photos, and events.
Usage and device information. ConnectFLX receives ordinary request information needed to deliver and secure the service. Privacy-focused analytics record aggregate page and traffic information such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate region, browser, operating system, and device type. The current analytics implementation does not use third-party advertising cookies or associate analytics with your ConnectFLX account.
Location and browser storage
Location access is optional and begins only when you ask to use a nearby-location feature and grant browser permission. Your coordinates are used in the browser to show your position and nearby results. ConnectFLX does not save those device coordinates to your account or database.
Route calculations send the coordinates of places in a trip to a mapping service. These are business locations, not your device location.
ConnectFLX uses session cookies to keep you signed in and refresh your session. The discover page stores filters and search text in your browser's session storage so they survive navigation. That filter data is not added to your account.
How we use information
- Provide accounts, saved places, visit history, and trips.
- Calculate trip routes, mileage, and estimated travel time.
- Review business claims and let approved managers maintain listings.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and understand use of ConnectFLX.
- Respond to questions, corrections, and legal requests.
ConnectFLX does not currently offer advertising or payments. The application has no feature that sells personal information or uses personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
When information is disclosed
We disclose information to service providers that perform authentication, database and file storage, hosting, analytics, maps and routing, sign-in, and administrative content-processing functions for ConnectFLX. They receive information needed to perform those functions under their own terms and privacy notices.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the service or others, to investigate misuse, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law.
ConnectFLX links to maps, business websites, reservation and RSVP providers, and social profiles. Information you provide after following an external link is governed by that service.
What may be public
Public business listings, events, photos, artist or organization profiles, and their public contact details can be viewed by anyone. Public and unlisted trips can be viewed by anyone with access to their page and may show the trip, stops, notes, and creator display name. Public trips may also appear in ConnectFLX discovery surfaces. Private trips are limited to their creator. Do not place sensitive personal information in public or unlisted content.
Retention and security
ConnectFLX retains account information and user content while an account is active and as reasonably needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with law. Specific retention periods have not yet been adopted. ConnectFLX uses access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but no system is completely secure.
Your choices and requests
You can edit your display name, remove saved places and visits, change trip visibility, edit or delete trips, withdraw a pending business claim, and deny browser location permission. The current application does not include self-service account deletion or data export. To request access, correction, or deletion, email hello@connectflx.com. Legal rights vary by location and may require identity verification.
Children
ConnectFLX is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
Changes and contact
